" Firas Ahmad Al-Zyoud is a professor of Biological Control and IPM at the Dept. of Plant Protection and IPM, Faculty of Agriculture, Mutah University Jordan. Prof. Al-Zyoud obtained his BSc in Plant Protection in 1994 and his MSc in Entomology in 1997 from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jordan. His PhD was in Biological Control and IPM from Bonn University, Germany in 2005. He has taught the courses of Biological Control, Insect Integrated Management, Principles of IPM, Pesticides, Entomology Beekeeping, Economic Pests, Economic Insects, Principles of Plant Protection, Beneficial Insects, Medical, Veterinary and Stored Insects, Agricultural Statistics, Experimental Design and Analysis, Application in Agricultural Experiments, Applications in IPM, Applications in Plant Protection, and Plant Protection Seminar.
Prof. Al-Zyoud, during his employment career, has served as a Dean Assistant, Chairman of the Dept. of Plant Protection and IPM, and as a Manager of the Agricultural Research Station of the Faculty of Agriculture, Mutah University. His research interests include IPM and Biological Control of economically important arthropod pests. Prof. Al-Zyoud published 51 scientific papers in local, regional and international journals. In addition, he published 4 not referred papers, 21 abstracts and 12 posters at different conferences. Furthermore, Prof. Al-Zyoud is a referee and/or a member of the editorial board in the Jordan Journal of Agricultural Sciences, Jordan Journal of Biological Sciences, Dirasat Agricultural Sciences, Mutah Lil Bohath Wa Derasat, and Sarhad Journal of Agriculture, Pakistan. He has awarded GTZ scholarship for his MSc, KAAD scholarship for his PhD, grants to conduct researches in Bonn University (Germany) financed by KAAD in 2009, by DFG in 2010, and by DAAD in 2012. He has participated in huge number of workshops, and he was a member of Mutah University Council for the academic years 2009/2010, 2013/2014 and 2018/2019, and a member of the preparing and scientific committees of many conferences. Furthermore, he was an external examiner in many PhD defences in the Plant Protection.

1. Wide understanding and experience with biological control programs and its applications in different field crops, vegetables and fruit trees.
2. Wide understanding and experience with IPM programs and its applications in different field crops, vegetables and fruit trees.
3. Wide understanding with conservation of biodiversity and healthy environment by reducing pesticide applications.
4. Wide understanding with global climatic changes through sustainable agriculture.
