Rula Alrawashdeh was born in Alkarak, Jordan, in 1983. She received the B.E. and M.E degrees (Hons.) in electrical engineering from Mutah University, Mutah, Jordan, in 2005, and 2008, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering/antennas and waves propagation from the University of Liverpool, Liverpool, U.K., in 2015.
In 2007, she was with the Jordanian Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, Amman, Jordan, as a Communication Policies Analyst. She had joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Tafila Technical University (TTU), Tafila, Jordan, as a lecturer for three years (2008-2011). Since 2015, she has been with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Mutah University, as an Assistant Professor. During working at the college of engineering at Mutah University, she held the position of an assistant dean of students and quality assurance affairs for one year (2017-2018). She has acted as a program committee member in the International Conference on Information and Communication Systems. She has also peer-reviewed as well as published manuscripts in well-known international journals and conferences. She has also supervised multiple BS.c and MS.c students. Her current research interests include wireless power transfer, implantable and wearable antennas, mobile antennas, reconfigurable antennas, antennas for Internet of Things applications, and wave propagation in lossy media.
